
Child Development Specialist

This job involves supporting families and children with developmental delays/disabilities.
Job Details- Work type: Full-time, part-time (4 days minimum)
- Location: Goulburn, Queanbeyan and Eurobodalla region
- To deliver supports in partnership with families to help them achieve their goals using evidence-informed best practice.
- To use assessments, observations and understanding of child development to tailor support options that fit each child and family.
- To empower families, caregivers and professionals helping them build skills and confidence to support children in their everyday lives.
- To connect children and families with their community to ensure they are included and can participate in the settings and activities they choose.
- To keep thorough records of conversations, developmental progress and goals in the NDIA business system.
- To guide families through the application, implementation and funding processes of NDIS plans.
- A degree qualification in Speech Pathology.
- Expert knowledge in child development and the ability to identify developmental issues.
- Proven track record supporting families and children with developmental delays/disabilities including the implementation of effective strategies for families to practice at home and other settings.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the NDIS Early Childhood Approach and early childhood intervention best practice principles and the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
- Flexibility to work full-time/part-time from home, from our office and within the community.
