
Child Protection Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caseworker to join our multi-disciplinary team, working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.
- Assess risk and safety concerns for children and young people in a complex service model, making informed decisions to mitigate risks and promote positive outcomes.
- Engage in child-centered practice that respects and acknowledges the unique cultural and contextual needs of each child, young person, and their family.
- Source timely and accurate information, utilizing evidence-based approaches to inform decision-making and drive effective interventions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships within the program, legislative frameworks, and partner agencies to foster meaningful change and improved outcomes for children and families.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, ensuring contemporary knowledge and skills to address emerging issues and challenges in child protection.
- A minimum of 2 years' frontline experience in statutory child protection services or within statutory investigation services.
- PREFERRED - Completed or nearing completion of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, or Welfare, coupled with practical experience.
- Other relevant degrees considered if applicants can demonstrate knowledge, skills, and experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and families.
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates with a strong connection to community are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- A valid driver's license (P1 or above).
- A current Working with Children clearance number.
- Competitive base salary range ($89,934 - $116,969 pa) plus superannuation & annual leave loading.
