The Head Chef will be responsible for managing the commercial kitchen and dining service. The primary goal is to ensure a high-quality dining experience for residents by planning and preparing fresh and nutritious meals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and preparation of meals
- Managing all resources within the kitchen
- Maintaining a hygienically clean kitchen
- Consulting with residents on menu design and meal times
In order to achieve this, the ideal candidate will have previous leadership experience within a commercial kitchen, preferably in aged care. They should possess a Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) and strong customer-centric approach and relationship building skills.
Additionally, they should be able to build relationships with older people and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety. Competency in using computer systems, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel, is also required.
Requirements include a heart and passion for providing high-quality care to the elderly and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
