System Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to work closely with architects, technical development leads, solution design leads, UX design leads, product owners and vendor partners to establish business and technical requirements and drive them through successful and on-time delivery of functionality/optimizations.

This is a contract role that will run for 12 months with an extension option based in Canberra. Remote/flexible work arrangements can be discussed with the specified personnel's manager upon commencement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create requirement/user story creation and Requirements Traceability matrix
  • Refine requirements and user stories to form highly detailed technical specifications
  • Pre-analyze upcoming requirements to advise business and technical teams on feasibility
  • Creation and updating digital workflows, sequence diagrams and API call flows
  • Capture test data requirements to support unit and in-sprint quality assurance testing
  • Work in DevOps framework to support deployed solutions
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' related experience
  • Ability to document highly detailed technical specifications from requirements
  • Functional understanding of Front ends, API patterns, REST
  • Thorough understanding of principles of concrete quality control
  • High ability to forge strong working relationships at all levels of an organization
  • Strong communication skills as well as ability to articulate organizational and business needs
Desirable Requirements:
  • 7+ years' of relevant experience
  • Experience with identifying APIs from business processes design and understanding different integration patterns
  • Experience in creating, working with and manipulating JSON documents
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with clients in a professional manner
  • Ability to work cohesively in a team environment using an Agile-based method
Criteria:
  • At least 5 years recent experience as System Analyst in Commonwealth environment (60%)
  • Experience working in an Agile software development team (20%)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant information technology field (20%)
