Support and Enablement Specialist

As a Support and Enablement Specialist, you will have the chance to apply your expertise in assessment and biopsychosocial approaches, implement practical and innovative strategies to prevent or respond to changes in behaviour related to dementia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with families, caregivers and clinical staff to understand how dementia affects each individual.
  • Equip carers and clinicians to prevent and address behaviour changes through coaching, modelling and resource development, including behaviour support planning.
  • Develop reports that are tailored to individual situations and people, driving change on the ground and improving quality of life for individuals living with dementia.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to gain a deeper understanding of the person's holistic experience and their care network.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in supporting individuals living with dementia
  • Experience in Australian residential aged care and/or community aged care
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to share knowledge and facilitate change
  • Strong negotiation, relationship building and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent decision-making abilities
