Key Responsibilities:- Develop annual exhibitions and public programs, driving audience engagement and supporting goals.
- Oversee EOI processes for exhibit applications.
- Manage contractual arrangements for service provision as required.
- Monitor gallery budgets in accordance with council policies and procedures.
- Establish partnerships with stakeholders to develop art and cultural activities.
- Represent the council within arts networks as required.
- Contribute to policy development, implementation, and evaluation in support of galleries and arts activities.
- Degree or diploma in the art sector or a related field with some relevant experience; or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience.
- Highly developed skills in museum and curatorial practices and principles.
- Proven ability to conduct original and community-informed research that supports innovative and socially engaged exhibitions and programs.
- Ability to effectively work with communities to support capacity building, social connection, and expression through arts and cultural programming.
- Experience working with early-career and community artists to support professional development, mentorship, and artist-in-residence programs.
- Ability to plan and manage events and projects.
- Ability to develop, monitor, and evaluate budgets.
- Developed knowledge of the museum and visual arts sectors.
- Understanding of community cultural development principles.
- Experience in physical installation of various exhibitions.
- Experience in exhibition design and written interpretative material.
- Current driver's licence.
