Life Saving Victoria is a leading water safety and lifesaving organisation with a rich history dating back to 1904. Our multifaceted volunteer-based community organisation focuses on public safety and wellbeing, working closely with communities, educational institutions, government agencies, businesses and the aquatic industry to save lives and empower communities.

As a key member of our People and Culture team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our organisation. Your primary responsibility will be to provide strategic support to the Senior Manager - People & Culture, driving initiatives that promote positive culture and organisational values throughout our workforce.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Recruiting, inducting and onboarding new starters, creating a positive employee experience and meeting workforce planning needs.
  • Partnering with each Business Unit to deliver employee lifecycle efforts effectively, including employee relations, performance and systems management.
  • Providing expert guidance and support to staff, managers and leaders on people practices, policies and procedures, recommending changes to improve engagement and productivity.
  • Championing and driving initiatives and programs that support positive culture and embed our organisational values and behaviours.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of policies, processes and systems that enhance our workplace culture and wellbeing.

You are a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a passion for contemporary people practices and the employee experience. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are skilled at building relationships, influencing key stakeholders and driving continuous improvement.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management, Business, Law or related disciplines.
  • Sound knowledge of best practice and employment legislation and frameworks, with a commitment to staying across developments and trends.
  • Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems and high-volume recruitment, such as MartianLogic, Job Adder, Taleo and HR Bamboo.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a business partnering or shared services team.
