We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate team leader to drive the development of our new holistic alternative learning program in Mount Isa. The program aims to reconnect young people involved in the youth justice system with education, training or employment pathways.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a passionate team, including providing professional supervision and guidance.
  • Work in partnership with local stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and holistic service delivery model.
  • Build strategic connections with local services providers, schools, and education institutions to foster collaboration and innovation.
  • Advocate for young people and their families through local networks and engagement with government agencies to promote positive outcomes.
  • Oversee daily operations within the Specialised Alternative Learning program and ensure best practice, compliance, and child safeguarding standards are met.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • Possess a Bachelor qualification in Human Services or Education, or significant equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Hold experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and young people involved in the youth justice system.
  • Show knowledge and understanding of the stresses on vulnerable families and the range of family risk and protective factors that impact on child outcomes.
  • Be able to manage competing priorities and de-escalate complex scenarios with ease.
