Financial Systems Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled financial systems accountant to support the strategic management and development of our corporate financial systems and processes.

  • Manage the ongoing development, implementation, system performance, and quality assurance of our financial management systems and processes.
  • Provide a consultancy and advisory service to internal and external stakeholders in relation to financial systems, including reporting and business processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial accounting systems to ensure data integrity and reporting structure.
Your Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and implementing system upgrades as required, including testing.
  • Developing, maintaining, and reviewing financial reports, executive information enquiries, and dashboards to assist stakeholders with planning and decision-making.
  • Providing timely and accurate financial information, analysis, and advice to key stakeholders.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant Australian accounting standards and practice, legislation, and prescribed corporate and external reporting frameworks.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An appropriate degree qualification in a financial or accounting discipline.
  • A Member of Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants (CPA Australia) or Institute of Chartered Accountants (Australia), or currently working towards attaining membership or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in systems administration in medium to large public or private sector organisations, including high-level project management skills.
  • Experience with Technology One Software and design and development of financial reports, executive information systems, and business intelligence tools.
