Senior & Principal Tailings Expert

About the Role

In this exciting position, you will leverage your skills and expertise to drive future-ready outcomes on iconic projects.

You will collaborate with professionals from around the world in a global team dedicated to supporting the mining industry's decarbonization efforts.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex projects, leveraging expertise and passion for mining.

The successful candidate will be based in Newcastle or Singleton offices and will be part of a leading team delivering best practice consulting services to clients in Australia and overseas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical direction for tailings design studies on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Review work and deliverables, fulfilling Engineer of Record roles.
  • Interface with client leads and subject matter experts for complex recommendations and conflict resolution.
  • Lead risk assessments, including Quantitative Risk Assessment.
  • Develop solutions meeting client standards and local/international guidelines.
  • Mitigate and manage risk in the design process associated with cost estimation.
  • Mentor junior engineers within the team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Engineering Qualifications in Civil or Mining Engineering.
  • Proven experience on tailings/mine waste projects, ideally in a consulting environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently independently and in teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Drive to balance innovation, quality, and delivery.
