Job Opportunity: Mine Geologist

We are seeking a Mine Geologist to lead our coal mining team in the Hunter Valley.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of open cut coal mining geology and experience in a similar role. They will also possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work well with people at all levels within the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead coal mined and coal crushed performance through productivity, quality and handleability.
  • Lead coal recovery in line with reserved tonnages and qualities.
  • Undertake routine pit and stockpile inspections providing guidance and feedback to planning and production teams.
  • Provide Daily coal mining, stockpiling and feed plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A degree in Geology, Mining Engineering or demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Open Cut Coal mining geology experience is essential, with the Hunter Valley or multi-seam mining advantageous.
  • Experience in a coal mining or coal planning role is advantageous.
  • An understanding of coal quality and beneficiation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people from all backgrounds.
