About the PositionIn this pivotal role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments and developing predictive models to mitigate ground movement impacts caused by underground mining operations. You will provide critical expertise to safeguard communities, infrastructure, and the environment while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Develop sophisticated mine subsidence risk assessments and predictive models.
- Analyse and report on ground movement and associated infrastructure impacts.
- Provide expert advice on remediation, prevention, and mitigation measures.
- Collaborate with developers, engineers, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Presentation of expert technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to mine subsidence legislation, industry standards, and safety frameworks.
- Tertiary qualification in Geotechnical, Mining or Civil Engineering.
- Significant experience in mine subsidence engineering, remediation/mine filling design, and geotechnical assessment.
- Proven track record in subsidence modeling and interpretation, structural impact assessment, and monitoring techniques.
- Excellent technical reporting and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Subsidence Advisory NSW practices.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent registration desirable.
