Job Description
As a Senior and Principal Tailings Engineer, you will enhance your capabilities and reputation while collaborating with professionals on iconic projects to drive future-ready outcomes.
The global team of dedicated mining professionals supports the industry's decarbonization efforts in the accelerating green transition. You'll be part of a leading team working on complex projects, leveraging expertise and passion for mining.
This role is based in Newcastle or Singleton offices, where you will work as a Tailings Engineer at a prestigious organization. You will be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team delivering best practice consulting services to clients in Australia and overseas.
Provide technical direction for tailings design studies on multi-disciplinary projects.
Review work and deliverables, fulfilling Engineer of Record roles.
Interface with client leads and subject matter experts for complex recommendations and conflict resolution.
Lead risk assessments, including Quantitative Risk Assessment.
Develop solutions meeting client standards and local/international guidelines.
Mitigate and manage risk in the design process associated with cost estimation.
Mentor junior engineers within the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor of Engineering Qualifications in Civil or Mining Engineering.
Proven experience on tailings/mine waste projects, ideally in a consulting environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently independently and in teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Drive to balance innovation, quality, and delivery.
