About the Role

As an independent pastoral care practitioner, you will have the autonomy to shape the provision of spiritual care and wellbeing services in our community.

This role is a critical component of our multidisciplinary team working within a collaborative framework to support residents to live their best lives.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the diverse pastoral and spiritual needs of residents, their families, and staff are identified and responded to with sensitivity, knowledge, and skill.

Your Mission
  • Provide spiritual care and support to residents, families, and staff through meaningful connections and relationships.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Recent experience working in a similar role in aged care, healthcare, or community settings;
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications including clinical pastoral education (CPE), counselling, or equivalent;
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience working in a multidisciplinary team;
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills in working with people experiencing vulnerability;
  • Understanding of the pastoral and spiritual needs of people living in a residential aged care setting;
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake spiritual assessments and contribute to care plans;
  • Well-developed knowledge and understanding of various spiritual expressions including faith traditions and denominations;
  • Demonstrated capacity for reflective practice;
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare, lead, and/or facilitate the provision of meaningful rituals and celebrations.
