Pastoral Care Specialist Role

This is a casual position available in New South Wales, Australia. The role involves delivering pastoral care services to residents and clients, ensuring they have choice in maintaining their cultural and spiritual wellbeing.

About the Position
  • Providing personal spiritual support and pastoral care services to residents and clients in line with their preferences and values
  • Supporting mission formation activities for employees within the residential aged care home
  • Working in a safe manner to protect yourself, your colleagues and residents closely following all policies and procedures

To be successful in this role you'll need:

  • Cert III or Cert IV in Pastoral Care or similar qualifications in theology or spirituality
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Catholic teachings, particularly as it relates to dignity of life and aged care
  • Commitment to supporting the pastoral/spiritual care needs of the sick and elderly and their family members
  • Commitment to respecting the values, customs, preferences and spiritual beliefs of residents
  • Able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Willingness to apply for a Police Check and NDIS clearance
