Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Operations Specialist to join our team at CBRE. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our data centres, providing exceptional customer service, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

About the Role

The primary objective of this role is to maintain 24/7 continuity of utilities, including electricity, gas, air-conditioning, heating, water, sewerage, drainage, cleaning, and waste management. You will work closely with our Critical Facilities Engineer Manager to develop and formalize site operating procedures, ensuring adherence to agreed operating parameters.

This full-time role involves working shift rosters, including days, nights, and weekends, to support the 24/7x365 days per year operating requirements of our data centres. You will also be required to work overtime as needed to ensure business continuity.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain power and air-conditioning to critical computer rooms (data halls)
  • Manage and control facilities management strategy of the data centre
  • Respond to emergencies, manually switching over to redundant or backup plant services when necessary
  • Develop and formalize site operating procedures, participating in regular reviews
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives
Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Trade qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • 3-5 years' experience in a data centre environment
  • Strong technical background, with expertise in electrical, mechanical, or air conditioning and refrigeration
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
