About The Role

We seek an experienced Technical Solutions Engineer to provide thought leadership, planning, management and technical design development for customer needs and support their migration to or growth within CDC's Data Centre Facilities.

The incumbent will be a Data Centre Engineering SME deployed across the business in technical discovery, customer response preparation and major change consultation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal teams to respond to customer requests and bid scenarios.
  • Liaise directly with customer technical teams under the guidance of the Head of Engineering Innovation.
  • Assist with hyperscale pre-sales opportunities as needed.
  • Provide advice and support to stakeholders and cross-functional teams throughout the sales lifecycle.
  • Prepare data centre engineering briefings to ensure alignment between customer requirements and project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the CDC Engineering Delivery Design team to customise and configure designs for customer needs.
  • Participate in the data centre engineering Concept Design phase to ensure key customer requirements are met.
  • Manage the development of key customer sales collateral.
  • Gather and relay customer feedback to relevant parties.
  • Articulate, capture and escalate risks to the Head of Engineering Innovation.
  • Contribute to CDC Engineering strategy regarding innovation and Data Centre Engineering best practice.
  • Continually seek out opportunities for innovation for both CDC and its customers.
  • Grow internal networks and share knowledge to improve performance.
  • Develop and manage relationships alongside Sales teams to identify, coordinate and win business.
  • Act as an ambassador for the company.
  • Attend and contribute to relevant team meetings and committees for excellent stakeholder engagement and communication.

About You

We require 5+ years' experience in Data Centre Engineering Design with a degree qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 10+ years total engineering experience.

Strong technical solutions experience in Data Centre engineering or critical infrastructure environments is essential.

You should have expertise in designing and implementing hyperscale data centre engineering developments and customer deployment solutions.

A strong understanding of Data Centre Engineering principles and industry-standard design architectures is required.

Demonstrable track records in pre-sales or post-sales are highly valued.

Essential Requirements:

  • Australian Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA Security Clearance at Negative Vetting 1 level.

Salary Estimate:

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
