We have multiple positions available for skilled Diesel Mechanic Labourers in Bendigo, Victoria. With immediate start available, we are seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our team on a casual basis.
About the Role:
Maintaining the client's fleet by providing high-quality automotive repairs and maintenance is key to this position.
To be successful, you must be fit and healthy, able to work on your feet for long durations, and provide excellent customer service while demonstrating the ability to diagnose, service, and maintain diesel plant and equipment and heavy & light fleet.
You must also have a satisfactory police check and possess relevant trade qualifications or experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately Diagnose, Service, Repair, and Maintain
- Inspect and report any defects of plant and ensure servicing, repairs, and maintenance provided are to the manufacturer's specifications while maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Apply theoretical, technical, and procedural knowledge to diagnose, test, analyse, develop, and design complex systems, equipment, or procedures to manufacturers' specifications in accordance with the relevant management plans and policies.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems and provide effective long-lasting solutions.
- Read and interpret schematic diagrams and drawings relating to plant and equipment.
- Undertake hydraulic repairs, automotive electrical repairs, and welding and fabricating using oxy, and both mig and arc welders and machining.
- Provide machine, mechanical, and maintenance induction training to plant operators and supervisors to ensure the safety, security, and performance of the asset is understood and optimized.
- Undertake inventory, schedule work, and interpret and order parts and sundries required to be on hand to undertake maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure strong and positive communication links are maintained with internal and external stakeholders and collaborate with the Fleet Services team members to achieve optimal results and share best practices with the view to improve traditional work practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma qualification or lesser formal qualifications with relevant work skills and experience applicable to mechanics with heavy diesel equipment and associated works.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in relevant trade practices and technology in the repair and maintenance of a large and varied fleet.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and identify faults of a complex or technical nature not previously encountered with the ability to provide solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a cooperative and effective team member.
- Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service along with the ability to gain cooperation and assistance from internal customers.
- Heavy Rigid (HR) and forklift license (desirable).
- Be punctual and reliable.
- A current car license and reliable transport.
- Sound communication skills and a proven ability to maintain both written and electronic records.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a cooperative and effective team member.
- Be fit and healthy (be able to work on your feet all day and pass a police check).
Estimated Salary: AU$65,000 - AU$80,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
