About the Role
- This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned legal professional to take on a leadership role in shaping and implementing effective corporate governance, compliance, legal, and risk management strategies and frameworks.
The successful candidate will provide expert legal and corporate governance advice to the Board, Board committees, and Chief Executive Officer as required and ensure the organisation's compliance with its legislative responsibilities.
As Governance and Risk Manager, you will lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of fit-for-purpose corporate governance, compliance, legal, and risk management strategies, frameworks, systems, and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Providing expert legal and governance advice and support to the Board, Board committees, and CEO
- Designing and implementing robust risk management, governance, compliance, ethical, internal audit, and control, complaints, and contract management frameworks
- Leading the development of operational transparency, accountability, and compliance with statutory obligations
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualification in law and holder of a current unrestricted practising certificate (or ability to readily regain a practicing certificate)
- A formal governance, risk, audit, quality, or company secretary qualification and/or experience as a company secretary (highly regarded, not essential), or thorough understanding of the role of Company Secretary
- Extensive understanding of corporate governance, risk management, compliance, quality assurance, and business systems and processes or related fields and practical experience developing and implementing relevant strategies and frameworks
