Business Development Manager

The primary objective of this role is to spearhead business growth across NSW by securing high-value lighting projects with a strong focus on strategic partnerships and market development.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective business strategies to drive revenue growth and expand the company's presence in the NSW market.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle: prospecting, client engagement, solution development, quoting, closing, and post-sale follow-up to ensure seamless customer experience.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including engineers, architects, consultants, government bodies, and end-users to foster long-term partnerships.
  • Leverage internal resources to deliver tailored, value-driven proposals that meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Represent the company at meetings, presentations, and industry events to build brand awareness and establish thought leadership in the NSW market.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activity, and upcoming projects to identify and pursue strategic opportunities that align with business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and CRM records, and contribute insights to regional growth strategy to inform business decisions.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience in the Lighting industry or electrical background, with a proven track record of success in driving business growth and securing high-value projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex sales cycles and manage multiple stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical teams, including architects, engineers, lighting designers, contractors, councils, developers, and other industry professionals.
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings, specifications, and proposal documentation to effectively communicate customer needs and solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills to engage customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and ability to manage a structured sales pipeline to maximize sales performance.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, or related field (preferred), but not essential for the right candidate with relevant experience.
  • Must have full working rights in Australia without any restrictions.
