
Specialist Advocate for Vulnerable Families

We are seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of Specialist Family Violence Practitioner at our Northern Specialist Family Violence Service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist family violence services to victim survivors and their children, with a focus on supporting them to remain safely within their community and maintain a life free of violence.
This role is an extension of our service, which aims to provide on-site 'live in' therapeutic services and/or access to a suite of community programs for a small cohort of victim survivors who are parents or in the late stages of pregnancy, or with a young child.
The Specialist Family Violence Practitioner will primarily be responsible for assessing family violence risk and working intensively with victim survivors and their children to identify goals and case plan. The practitioner will also be responsible for delivering case managed goals and strengthening the attachment between the non-offending parent and child.

About the Role- Assess family violence risk and work intensively with victim survivors and their children to identify goals and case plan
- Deliver case managed goals and strengthen the attachment between the non-offending parent and child
- Provide personal and psychological safety to both adult and child victim survivors
- Support both adult and child victim survivors to recover from trauma
This role requires a high level of understanding of family violence and its impact on victim survivors and their children.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable populations, including women and children, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The candidate will be able to work collaboratively as part of a team and have a commitment to providing high-quality services to victim survivors and their children.
The following qualifications and experience are required:
- Bachelor degree in Social Work or related field
- Post-graduate qualification in family violence or related field (desired)
- Experience working in family violence or related field (desired)
- Relevant certifications and training in family violence
- A culture that values and supports professional development
