Melbourne, Victoria, Australia beBeeCommunity Full time $110,888 - $116,550
Family Group Conference Convenor

The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing works to create equal opportunities for all Victorians to live a safe, respected and valued life.

Our focus areas include child protection, housing, disability, family violence prevention, multicultural affairs, LGBTQI+ equality, veterans, women and youth. Our work benefits thousands of Victorians, particularly those who are disadvantaged and vulnerable.

As a Family Group Conference Convenor, you will play a critical role in supporting vulnerable families to make decisions and develop plans about the care and safety of their children following involvement with the Child Protection program. This aims to strengthen engagement with services and divert families from further statutory involvement, including legal intervention.

This role requires high-level written and verbal communication skills, highly developed policy and stakeholder engagement skills, and an ability to be responsive to tasks, providing timely responses. You will also contribute to various work priorities within the unit.

You will work closely with vulnerable families, service providers, other professionals, and the broader child protection workforce to achieve best outcomes for vulnerable children.

This role may require working outside normal office hours at times, including evenings and weekends.
