Role Overview
">The Initial Assessment Planning (IAP) Worker plays a crucial role in assisting customers who present as being homeless or at risk of homelessness.
">Key responsibilities include assessing customer eligibility and providing adequate accommodation through housing information, direct financial assistance, and/or targeted referrals to external services.
">Liaising with external stakeholders, including Centrelink, real estate agents, and private landlords, you will advocate on behalf of our customers.
">This is a part-time position working 30 hours per week.
">About the Role
">As an IAP Worker, you will be working directly with vulnerable members of our community.
">You will work collaboratively as part of our multi-award winning team to deliver outcomes that make a meaningful impact on the lives of people experiencing homelessness.
">Essential Criteria
">- Qualification and/or demonstrated experience in Social Work or another relevant social discipline.
">- Relevant skills and experience in working effectively and sensitively with diverse customer groups with complex needs.
">- Confidence in liaising with various stakeholders, including vulnerable people.
">- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a caring and empathetic nature.
">- Previous experience working on MS Office programs.
">- A current driver's licence.
">Desirable
">- Previous experience working in the social/community housing industry.
">Satisfactory police checks are required for all staff, and those with client-related responsibilities are required to provide a NDIS and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
