Protect the Vulnerable

We are seeking a Child Safety Officer to join our team. This role requires a strong commitment to child protection and welfare.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of children and young people across their region. They will work closely with other Placement Services Unit staff and Cultural Practice Advisors to deliver placement services that meet the needs of vulnerable young people.

About the Role

As a Child Safety Officer, you will be a statutory advocate for children and young people's safety and wellbeing under the Child Protection Act 1999.

You will work in placement services, providing culturally respectful and appropriate support to organisations housing young people from diverse backgrounds.

Requirements

  • Australian Driver's License and the legal right to work in Australia
  • A Bachelor Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field and further study or work experience
  • Understanding of statutory role and ability to write case notes while maintaining privacy

Building and maintaining professional relationships with organisations, high-level organisation and data collation skills are necessary for success in this role.
