Highly Skilled Educator Required

Located in the heart of Nicholls, ACT, we are seeking a highly skilled educator to join our team at St John Paul II College.
Catholic Education, Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn is committed to providing high-quality education to students across the ACT and NSW. Our schools offer a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth.
The successful applicant will have a Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching qualification and be registered with the Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and/or Working with Children's Check (WWCC). They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with colleagues, students, and parents.
We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $125,000 per annum, plus superannuation. The salary is determined based on years of teaching service.
In this role, you will work closely with leaders to pursue excellence in teaching and learning, including content knowledge, teaching methodologies, classroom management, assessment, and reporting. You will also support student wellbeing by creating safe and inclusive learning environments where all students can flourish.

Key responsibilities include:
- Create a learning environment that stimulates learning, promotes excellence, and accepts and acknowledges the needs of students to be both challenged and supported.
- Use a variety of teaching and learning techniques to meet individual needs.
- Provide timely and useful feedback about completed assessment items for students.
- Communicate in a clear, respectful, and professional way to optimise each student's development.
- Plan, prepare, record, and evaluate work to be undertaken by classes.
- Communicate with parents in written reports and parent-teach interviews and at other times as required.
- Help enable the best use of shared resources.
- Work with colleagues to review and develop the curriculum and write course documents.
- Undertake regular professional development, such as reading and attending courses, for the development of knowledge and skills on a personal basis, to consider current developments relevant to the needs of students and the requirements of the curriculum.
- Keep abreast of knowledge and curriculum development in teaching areas as well as current developments in educational thinking.
- Contribute to the professional development of other staff members.
