Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Director to lead our manufacturing operations team. As a key member of our executive team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our business site, ensuring that production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with our strategic goals.

The Role

The Senior Operations Director will work closely with our CEO and other members of the senior leadership team to develop and implement strategies that enhance productivity, improve quality, and optimise resource utilisation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the CEO and other members of the Senior Leadership Team to set strategic goals and make high-level decisions.
  • Overseeing all aspects of operations including production planning, quality, maintenance, and supply chain management & procurement.
  • Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implementing principles and other process improvement methods to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Driving initiatives to reduce waste, improve product quality, and increase overall productivity.
  • Developing and managing operations budget, ensuring cost control and efficient allocation of resources.
  • Analysing financial reports and operational data to make informed decisions that enhance profitability.
  • Building and mentoring a high-performing operations team, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Championing a strong safety culture and ensuring that all employees adhere to safety protocols.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Head of Operations or in a similar senior operational leadership role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and efficient manufacturing principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operational strategies that drive efficiency and profitability.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
