Job Description

As a senior culinary professional, you will oversee a section of the kitchen and prepare an array of dishes for the restaurant, bar, and special events. You will be responsible for delivering an authentic and memorable dining experience to our guests while maintaining high standards of hygiene and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present authentic Italian dishes to the highest standard across the restaurant, bar, and special events.
  • Supervise your section, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency during prep and service.
  • Contribute creative ideas to enhance the guest experience through menu planning, specials, and food styling.
  • Uphold food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards with accurate record keeping.
  • Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and manage storage to minimise waste and maintain cost efficiency.
  • Train and mentor junior chefs to help them grow and succeed.
  • Develop a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture built on respect, passion, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years' experience as a senior chef or similar, with a strong passion for Italian cuisine and demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Qualifications in Commercial Cookery/Culinary Arts from a registered training provider.
  • Previous experience in Italian or Mediterranean cuisine is highly regarded.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time management in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of grooming, hygiene, and food safety.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
