Senior Kitchen Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate chef to lead our kitchen team in Melbourne.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present authentic Italian dishes to the highest standard across all service areas.
  • Supervise your section, ensuring consistency, quality, efficiency during prep and service.
  • Support the Head Chef in menu planning, specials, and food styling, contributing creative ideas that enhance the guest experience.
  • Uphold food safety, hygiene, HACCP standards with accurate record keeping.
  • Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, manage storage to minimise waste maintain cost efficiency.
  • Train, mentor, support junior chefs, helping them grow succeed.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture built on respect passion collaboration.
  • Assist with supplier relationships to ensure highest quality produce best possible price.
  • Stay up to date with culinary trends bring new ideas to keep our menu exciting relevant.

Requirements:

  • 2–4 years' experience as a Demi Chef or similar, with a strong passion for Italian cuisine demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Qualifications in Commercial Cookery/Culinary Arts from a registered training provider.
  • Previous experience in Italian Mediterranean cuisine is highly regarded.
  • Strong communication skills collaborative solutions-focused approach to teamwork.
  • Excellent attention to detail organisation time management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of grooming hygiene food safety.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings weekends public holidays.
