How you fit:
As a Principal Business Partner, you will deliver strategic impact by influencing senior stakeholders and reviewing HR products. You will align people strategies with commercial objectives, using data to inform evidence-based initiatives that drive organisational performance.
Within our client group, you will lead and provide expert guidance on restructures, workforce planning, and succession. You will manage complex conduct, medical, and performance matters, ensuring all processes meet legal and best practice standards.
What you do:
Stakeholder Management:
- Act as a business leader who says 'no' when required, pushes a difficult perspective, and influences other leaders.
- Partner with the business to drive operational goals through people management.
- Represent the organisation in external forums, such as industry groups and government consultations.
Business Data Analysis and Interpretation:
- Analyse key business metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Interpret financial statements and operational data to inform HR decision-making.
- Evaluate the financial impact of HR programmes and interventions.
- Prepare business cases for HR initiatives, clearly articulating expected return on investment.
Product Development and Lifecycle Management:
- Design and launch HR products in partnership with the Organisational Development team.
- Monitor the performance and uptake of HR products, using data to refine features and improve user experience.
Case Management and Industrial Disputes:
- Manage complex conduct, medical, and performance-related cases, including comprehensive documentation.
- Resolve industrial disputes, grievances, and claims, including representation at tribunals.
- Provide guidance and support to managers on handling employee relations issues.
Principal HR Business Partnering:
- Offer expert guidance on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
- Collaborate with commercial leaders to develop and support a 12–24-month people plan.
- Establish and maintain a consistent operating rhythm with assigned business units.
What you need:
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Human Resources, or related discipline.
- Postgraduate qualifications highly desirable.
- Advanced technical expertise in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, and Employee Relations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of human resources legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Significant experience leading complex projects and organisational change initiatives.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
