Job Description

The Careers and Employability Support Officer is a vital role within our organisation, providing administrative and logistical support to enable the delivery of exceptional student-facing services.

This position will be part of the Student Experience branch, which partners with students, staff and the broader community to deliver an outstanding student experience. The team focuses on transformational opportunities in learning and teaching, providing services that deliver an excellent student experience.

The Career Services department empowers students and recent graduates to develop skills, knowledge and experience to support their career development, enhance their employability and achieve their career goals.

The International Careers team and the Industry Engagement Team plan, coordinate and develop programs, events and activities that boost students' career experiences and employability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide logistical, event and administrative support for industry engagement and employability development initiatives, activities, events and systems.
  • Coordinate and deliver events, workshops and training sessions to promote career development and employability.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners, academic staff and other stakeholders to promote career opportunities and support student employability.
  • Support the development and implementation of career development programs and initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in event management, including logistics, promotion, registration management and delivery.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, both written and oral, and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders from various cultural groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and work with competing deadlines with sound judgement and ability to prioritise work tasks.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with a focus on accurate record keeping of sensitive data.
