About the RoleAs an Aboriginal Mental Health Cultural Worker, you will play a key role in ensuring that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers receive culturally relevant care in community, acute, and rehabilitation settings.
- You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to foster strong relationships with local health services, community groups, and ATSI organizations.
- Your expertise will be vital in bridging cultural understanding and ensuring that mental health care is tailored to the unique needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
This dynamic role offers an opportunity to make a real and lasting impact on the wellbeing of those you serve.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will require:
- Experience in working with and providing advocacy and support services to ATSI people and communities.
- Experience working within a community engagement or development capacity.
- Experience in reporting to and liaising with multiple stakeholders across the spectrum of community services or health.
- Experience in working with people who have health and/or mental health related issues.
- Experience in working within a community services team environment and successful participation in such a setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages including word processing, desktop publishing, Excel, and Outlook.
