Electrical Design Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to play a pivotal role in the conceptualization, design, and development of electrical substation projects up to 500kV. As part of our team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution, adherence to highest standards of quality and safety, and timely delivery within scope.

Main Responsibilities
  • Create primary engineering designs for electrical substation projects up to 500kV
  • Identify relevant standards, local customer requirements, and ensure compliance with National/International Standards and contract specifications
  • Develop diverse solutions as part of the design optimization process
  • Coordinate interference checker and resolve clashes
  • Prepare substation design calculations, including earthing design, busbar sizing, SC force calculations, lightning protection, and cable sizing
  • Define primary design subsystems and bills of material
  • Ensure designs are safe and adhere to required electrical clearances
  • Directly responsible for substation outdoor physical design, including general substation arrangement and layout, plan and elevation drawings, transformer/reactor yards design, and layouts for high-voltage bus, cable, and wiring
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in Foundations, preferably in Substations
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Geotechnical interpretation
  • Strong knowledge of latest local standards & IEC/IEEE/ANSI standards
  • Proficiency with various software tools, such as AutoCAD and ETAP
