Job Overview

The primary substation design engineer will lead primary substation design up to 500kV, including layout, equipment arrangement, and electrical clearances.

They will perform detailed engineering calculations, develop comprehensive design packages including bills of materials and technical specifications for high-voltage equipment, and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure clash-free, optimized designs.

Key responsibilities include reviewing system studies, developing detailed engineering documents, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a primary engineer on major energy infrastructure projects (high-voltage/electrical substations), relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor of Engineering), Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or working towards it, and membership (or eligibility) with a relevant engineering body (e.g. Engineers Australia).
