We are seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of Community Engagement Specialist, focusing on harm reduction services and community development initiatives.
This position entails providing support and advocacy for individuals who use drugs, through education, outreach, and linkages to treatment services. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be able to build relationships with service users and stakeholders, and have experience working in diverse communities.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver harm reduction services, including equipment distribution, information provision, and education sessions
- Establish and maintain relationships with service users, carers, clinicians, and community agencies
- Support service users in navigating health and social services, including referrals and linkages
About the Position:
- Requirements:
- Certification in AOD, Community Development, Social Work, or related field (Cert IV+ with 2 years' experience)
- Knowledge of health and social issues affecting people who use drugs, including harm reduction principles
- Experience engaging respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Computer literacy and ability to work independently in a busy setting
