Job Title: Policy Officer, Advancing Traditional Owner Rights
\Our new Branch seeks a passionate and driven individual to contribute to groundbreaking work in truth, treaty, self-determination and cultural rights as a Policy Officer. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in the community where you live and work.
\Key Responsibilities\- \
- Contribute to shadow policy analysis and engagement on Victorian Government programs and reforms impacting Traditional Owners.\
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with other branches, Traditional Owners, stakeholders and representatives to assist the work of the Advancing Traditional Owner Rights branch.\
- \
- Engage with Aboriginal organisations and communities in a sensitive and culturally appropriate manner.\
- Prepare complex briefs, correspondence, submissions and reports.\
- Adapt to changing priorities and establish relationships with diverse individuals and organisations.
Requirements
\- \
- A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience and knowledge in law, public policy, humanities or related field.\
- Understanding of Aboriginal affairs policy, legislation and frameworks relevant to Victoria.
