Homeless Outreach Specialist

This role involves providing support to homeless individuals in the downtown area of Victoria, fostering meaningful relationships and connecting them with essential services.

  • The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of community resources, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively in a challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct outreach efforts in vans to engage with marginalized homeless individuals.
  2. Assess risks, identify problems, and provide guidance and counseling as needed.
  3. Develop and implement short-term intervention plans to address the needs of service recipients.
  4. Foster partnerships with other service providers and professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Diploma in a related field (human or social services).
  • Current First Aid Certification.
  • Valid BC Drivers' License.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a related field.
