Job Title: Homelessness Support Specialist

Homelessness is a complex issue that affects individuals from all walks of life. The role of the Homelessness Support Specialist is to provide crucial support and assistance to those in need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To conduct thorough assessments with homeless individuals, taking into account their unique circumstances and needs.
  • To provide accurate information and make relevant referrals to accommodation and service providers.
  • Working closely in a small team environment supporting clients, building rapport quickly and engaging them via telephone.
  • Entering client notes into client management software daily, maintaining accurate records.
Requirements:
  • A recognised tertiary level qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Behavioural Science, or related disciplines.
  • 1-2 years' experience in the social services sector (Level 4).
  • 3-5 years' experience in the social services sector (Level 5).
  • High quality assessment and interview skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Emotional intelligence and resilience.
  • Experience working effectively with young people, individuals, couples, and families facing multiple complex issues.
