
Strategic Learning and Development Lead

The role of Learning and Development Specialist is pivotal in supporting the learning and development function. The successful candidate will play a key part in identifying targeted solutions to meet skills or knowledge gaps and building essential capabilities within the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of learning and development initiatives by collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement effective training programs.
- Provide administrative support to capture training attendance, manage records, and maintain databases related to learning and development.
- Assist in planning, developing, and implementing staff learning and development strategies that align with organizational objectives.
- Evaluate and enhance administrative processes related to learning and development, ensuring consistent record keeping and application of policies.
- Coordinate scheduling of learning enrolments, guaranteeing value for money and optimizing resources.
- Monitor and report on learning and development budgets, programs, and outcomes to inform strategic decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Training and Development, Education, or a related field; or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment with relevant experience.
- Proven solid contemporary experience in a similar role with ongoing professional development and commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends.
- Database management experience, with expertise in data analysis and interpretation.
- Experience in identifying learning opportunities and needs, as well as developing targeted solutions to address these gaps.
- Ability to identify and recommend methods to address learning opportunities and needs, leveraging industry best practices.
- Understanding of the Australian Qualifications Framework and its applications.
- Knowledge and understanding of local government operations, systems, and policies.
- Strong written and reporting skills to provide information and recommendations to various audiences.
