Network Operations Specialist

The role entails managing Level 1 incidents and faults within the Sydney Trains DTRS network. The Network Operations Specialist will work as part of a 24/7/365 shift team to ensure high network availability by coordinating daily preventative maintenance activities, responding promptly to incidents, and meeting contracted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

The key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and managing network incidents and faults; escalating as required.
  • Utilizing tools such as SAP, EMC Smarts, and NMS applications for incident resolution and reporting.
  • Collaborating with field technicians, teams, and clients to maintain high network availability.
  • Contributing to technical documentation and continuous service improvement.
  • Demonstrating strong communication, teamwork, and client focus.
  • Conducting routine system health checks and managing maintenance activities.
  • Upgrading company standards in quality, safety, and business processes.

This position requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and network operations, along with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
