Job Description

Synergetic collaboration is at the core of this position, where you will be instrumental in ensuring network availability and uptime. The Network Operations Expert plays a pivotal role in managing Level 1 incidents and faults within the Sydney Trains DTRS network.

Achieving high network availability is paramount, requiring daily preventative maintenance activities, prompt incident response, and adherence to contracted KPIs. This involves coordinating with clients, SYSTRA teams, and stakeholders to resolve faults, support technical documentation, and continually enhance service quality.

The primary responsibilities include monitoring and managing network incidents and faults, escalating as necessary, and utilizing tools such as SAP, EMC Smarts, and NMS applications for incident resolution and reporting.

Close collaboration with field technicians, SYSTRA teams, and clients ensures high network availability. Contributing to technical documentation and continuous service improvement are also key aspects of this role. Strong communication, teamwork, and client focus are essential qualities.

Routine system health checks and management of maintenance activities are crucial to upholding company standards in quality, safety, and business processes.

Key Skills and Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required. A minimum of 5 years' experience in cellular network NOC and customer support, preferably in GSM 2G networks, is necessary. Proficiency with Huawei & Nokia RAN, core, and transmission equipment in 2G/4G/5G cellular networks is expected.

Proficiency in network log file analysis, call tracing, and events analysis is also required. Knowledge of GSM-R rail telecommunications, cyber security, and virtualized network solutions is highly desirable.
