The role of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Teacher involves providing support to students and school communities in curriculum, culture, spirituality, learning and wellbeing. The teacher collaborates with staff to uphold the school's Catholic identity and mission.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
  • Promoting reconciliation by engaging with the community and integrating Indigenous perspectives into the school
  • Fostering collaboration among teachers, curriculum teams, wellbeing teams and support staff

To be successful in this position, applicants must have a four-year teaching qualification, be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and hold current NESA Accreditation. A NSW Working with Children Check and completion of anaphylaxis training are also requirements. Additionally, a Senior First Aid Certificate and unrestricted Class C Driver's Licence are necessary.
