
Indigenous Health Educator

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled academic to contribute to the education and development of nursing students and professionals, particularly in the area of Indigenous health.
We are looking for someone who has expertise in teaching and learning strategies related to Indigenous health, experience in delivering high-quality teaching in various modalities, and strong professional links with relevant industry and community partners.
About the Role- Develop and deliver teaching and learning strategies about Indigenous health
- Contribute to the design and delivery of curriculum in Indigenous health within a School of Nursing and Midwifery
- Foster collaboration within the Faculty of Health and engage with industry and community stakeholders to promote the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Indigenous peoples internationally
- Lead research activities and contribute to a strong publication track record
To be eligible for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a PhD or Masters in nursing or a related discipline
- Be currently registered as a nurse or nurse/midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
- Have relevant, recent clinical and/or research and/or academic experience in a nursing context
- Demonstrated level of capacity and skills in developing and delivering teaching and learning strategies about Indigenous health
- Knowledge of contemporary teaching and learning approaches and adult learning theories in higher education
- Experience teaching at a tertiary level, including face-to-face, blended and/or fully online teaching
- Strong professional links with relevant industry and community partners
- Ability to lead research activities and a strong publication track record
