Indigenous Engagement Specialist

About the Opportunity

This is a critical role in leading engagement activities for our High School Program and Redefining Indigenous Definitions of Success in Education project to support Indigenous High school students.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the development of a long-term vision for the HSP and RISE project in alignment with external factors and internal resources.
  • Lead the recruitment process of students into the HSP and RISE project from school Memorandum of Understanding sign off to student application approval.
  • Plan and execute program participant engagement activities including HSP camps, RISE one day engagements and family days, learning plans and other activities.
  • Design and coordinate training on program content, planning, assessment and pedagogy for program staff, Elders, and Mentors.
  • Identify and collaborate with appropriate external facilitators and organisations to deliver engagement activities and lessons.
Key Requirements
  • Promote cultural, psychological, and child safety and encourage an inclusive and supportive environment.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Well-developed written communication capabilities.
  • Ability to balance taking direction and exercising initiative.
  • Bachelor's degree in education, project management, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years experience in Partnerships, Engagement and Relationship Management.
