Role Summary:
We are seeking an Indigenous Education Specialist to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting students and school communities in the areas of curriculum, culture, spirituality, learning and wellbeing.
About the Role:
The Indigenous Education Specialist will focus on promoting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within the school. This includes developing and implementing Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and liaising with classroom teachers, curriculum teams, wellbeing teams, ministry teams and Learning Support teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students and school communities in the areas of curriculum, culture, spirituality, learning and wellbeing
- Promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within the school
- Develop and implement Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
- Liaise with classroom teachers, curriculum teams, wellbeing teams, ministry teams and Learning Support teams
Requirements:
- A four-year trained teacher qualification
- Being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement
- NESA Accreditation
- A current NSW Working with Children Check number
- Anaphylaxis training
- A Senior First Aid Certificate
- A Class C Drivers Licence
