Culturally Sensitive Healthcare Support Role

The role of Administration Officer – Primary Health Care Trainee is a patient's first point of contact at one of our medical clinics. This is an entry point role with potential for further growth and development. The role will be supervised by experienced health professionals.
Key Responsibilities:- Meet and greet clients
- Attend to all phone calls and messages in accordance with the ATSICHS Triage process
- Booking of appointments using the MMex system
- Maintain specialist calendars
- Ensure all correspondence related to GP referrals is scanned and filed in the appropriate patient chart
Effective communication skills, time management, and the ability to observe patients' demeanour are essential for ensuring minimal interruptions to patient flow.
Required Skills and QualificationsAboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people must identify as such in accordance with s25 of the Anti-discrimination Act 1991 (Qld). Willingness and ability to undertake at a minimum a Certificate III Business Administration is also required.
Additional skills include:
- Ability to work independently, under guidance or direction, and within a multi-disciplinary team
- Previous experience working with culturally diverse people
- An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Suite Applications
- Current and valid National Police Check
This fixed-term full-time position offers a salary of $45,000 per annum + additional 12% superannuation. Additionally, access to Salary packaging increases your take-home pay, and you'll have the opportunity to obtain a Certificate III in Business Administration upon completion.
