Mathematics or Statistics Lecturer/Senior Lecturer Position

The School of Mathematics and Physics at The University of Queensland is seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in mathematics or statistics. The appointee will have a developed research program in mathematics or statistics and will be required to engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and curriculum development, including service courses.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess student performance, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules.
- Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions.
- Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, and provide performance feedback.
- Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships internal and external to the university, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.

Selection CriteriaApplicants should possess a PhD or equivalent in a relevant field such as mathematics or statistics. Additional selection criteria are:
- Level B (Lecturer): A growing profile of contributions towards a range of teaching responsibilities, evidence for which can include designing learning materials and assessment tasks, using effective teaching and learning approaches, coordinating courses and participating in other student activities.
- Level C (Senior Lecturer): An established profile of effective contributions towards a range of teaching responsibilities, including improving curriculum design and assessment practices, modifying teaching and learning approaches to achieve enhanced learning outcomes, and leading courses, discipline plans or programs.
