Job Title: Payroll Manager

The role of the Payroll Manager is crucial to ensure the smooth operation of an organization's payroll function.

This position is responsible for overseeing a high-performing payroll team, providing operational and strategic expertise in relation to all aspects of Payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of direct reports - Payroll Officers
  • Process fortnightly and monthly payroll for core employees plus seasonal employees
  • Quality assurance of monthly and fortnightly payroll
  • Coordinate out of cycle pay runs as required
  • Support the delivery and payroll administration of annual compensation reviews and incentive plans
  • Build a top-performing team by coaching and developing compliance and regulations within the organization's practices and policies
  • Oversee preparation of State and Federal tax obligations including PAYG tax, Payroll tax, and Superannuation Guarantee contributions
  • Collaborate with the Finance team on Month end and Year end preparation and reporting
  • Improve Payroll processes and effectively utilize the payroll system
  • Streamline payroll processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years experience in payroll management
  • Proven ability to manage operational finance teams
  • Strategic goal development skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder liaison skills
  • Strong reconciliation skills
  • Attention to detail and time management skills
