Head of Payroll Operations

The role of the Payroll Manager is crucial to ensure the smooth operation of an organization's payroll function.
This position is responsible for overseeing a high-performing payroll team, providing operational and strategic expertise in relation to all aspects of Payroll.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of direct reports - Payroll Officers
- Process fortnightly and monthly payroll for core employees plus seasonal employees
- Quality assurance of monthly and fortnightly payroll
- Coordinate out of cycle pay runs as required
- Support the delivery and payroll administration of annual compensation reviews and incentive plans
- Build a top-performing team by coaching and developing compliance and regulations within the organization's practices and policies
- Oversee preparation of State and Federal tax obligations including PAYG tax, Payroll tax, and Superannuation Guarantee contributions
- Collaborate with the Finance team on Month end and Year end preparation and reporting
- Improve Payroll processes and effectively utilize the payroll system
- Streamline payroll processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years experience in payroll management
- Proven ability to manage operational finance teams
- Strategic goal development skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder liaison skills
- Strong reconciliation skills
- Attention to detail and time management skills
