Senior Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Senior Payroll Specialist to join our finance team on a full-time basis.

The Role

This role involves processing the payroll of 200 employees on a fortnightly and weekly basis. You will be responsible for leading the enhancement and improvement of our newly implemented payroll system, ensuring ERP integration can be deployed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting end-to-end weekly payroll (weekly & fortnightly)
  • Reviewing and reporting timesheet discrepancies, to ensure accuracy for weekly payroll
  • Ensuring appropriate authorisations are administered
  • Processing new starters, termination pays, superannuation
  • Processing incentive payments
  • Preparing and lodging wage subsidies and incentives
  • Preparing and lodging portable LSL contributions
  • Leave reports
  • Maintaining employee benefits/entitlements schedule to support business planning
  • Promoting understanding of safe work practices
  • Supporting Return to Work programs
  • Payroll system administration & management
  • Assistance with FBT reporting cycle
  • Subcontractor payments - end-to-end management
  • Prepare payroll tax, PAYG and FBT lodgements
  • Preparation and reconciliation of payment summaries
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant awards, legislation, and regulations
  • Liaising with P&C regarding new hires, employee changes, terminations, and remuneration
  • Knowledge of ELMO and MYOB systems is desired but not essential

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel and Accounting packages
