Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Services Manager to join our team at the Queensland University of Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating an efficient and effective team providing technical services to the Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of technical staff providing specialist technical support to the Faculty.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the technical services support for teaching, research, external engagement, facilities management, and compliance.
  • Build a constructive performance culture within the team, leading to continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize technical services needs, ensuring alignment with Faculty goals and objectives.
  • Manage and implement projects, including scoping, planning, and delivering effective outcomes within agreed timeframes.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualifications or significant relevant work experience in an operational management role involving technical support for creative, design, and media production disciplines.
  • Extensive experience in the management of technical support services, technical staff teams, and facilities preferably in an educational environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and lead effective teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect and collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
