About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Director to join our team at Howatson + Company. As a Business Director, you will play a key role in leading our team in creating and executing top-notch production shoots that capture the essence of our clients' brands.

You will be responsible for leading client meetings and presentations, providing strategic guidance and solutions, and overseeing project budgets to ensure that all work is completed within budget. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of Business Managers and Executives, fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships, strong strategic thinking and planning skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will also have experience managing and mentoring a team, and be able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Account Management:
    • Develop and execute strategic plans for client accounts that align with business objectives and drive results.
    • Manage production shoots, from pre-production planning to the final edit, ensuring creative concepts are executed flawlessly.
    • Conduct research and analysis to identify market trends and competitive opportunities.
    • Serve as a strategic partner to clients, providing insights and recommendations to help them achieve their business objectives.
  • Team Management:
    • Manage and mentor a team of Business Managers and Executives, fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to team members.
  • Business Development:
    • Identify new business opportunities and work with the Managing Director to develop proposals and presentations.
    • Develop and maintain a network of industry contacts to support new business efforts.
  • Marketing Consultancy:
    • Provide consultative marketing advice to clients on brand positioning, customer targeting, and communication strategies.
    • Identify and recommend opportunities for marketing innovation and growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate closely with internal teams such as creative, technology, experience design, strategy, and production to ensure that all work is executed to the highest standard and meets client expectations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in account management in a full-service advertising agency or marketing consultancy.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
  • Experience managing and mentoring a team.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
